Fernando Lisboa Teixeira is an Assistant Professor at the ElectroScience Laboratory (ESL) and Department of Electrical Engineering, The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), Brazil, in 1991 and 1995, respectively, and the Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Urbana, IL, in 1999. From 1999 to 2000 he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate with the Research Laboratory of Electronics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA.

His primary research interests include analytical and numerical techniques for wave propagation and scattering modeling in communication, sensing, materials, and devices applications. Specific application areas of interest include electromagnetic metamaterials and remote sensing problems. He was the guest editor for the PIER (Progress in Electromagnetics Research) volume 32 on Geometric Methods for Computational Electromagnetics (Cambridge, Mass.:EMW, 2001), and has published over 50 journals articles/book chapters and over 80 conference papers/abstracts.

Dr. Teixeira received the Raj Mittra Outstanding Research Award from the University of Illinois, a 1998-1999 IEEE MTT-S Fellowship, and a 2002 URSI Young Scientist Award. In 2004, he was the receipient of a NSF CAREER award, a OSU Lumley Research Award, and a NSF US Oberwolfach Institute Fellowship. Dr. Teixeira is a Senior member of IEEE and Full Member of URSI Commission B.
