Laboratory (ESL) and Department of Electrical Engineering, The Ohio State
University, Columbus, OH. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical
Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro
(PUC-Rio), Brazil, in 1991 and 1995, respectively, and the Ph.D degree in
Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign,
Urbana, IL, in 1999. From 1999 to 2000 he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate
with the Research Laboratory of Electronics, Massachusetts Institute of
Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA.
His primary research interests include analytical and numerical techniques for
wave propagation and scattering modeling in communication, sensing, materials,
and devices applications. Specific application areas of interest include
electromagnetic metamaterials and remote sensing problems. He was the guest
editor for the PIER (Progress in Electromagnetics Research) volume 32 on
Geometric Methods for Computational Electromagnetics (Cambridge, Mass.:EMW,
2001), and has published over 50 journals articles/book chapters and over 80
conference papers/abstracts.
Dr. Teixeira received the Raj Mittra Outstanding Research Award from the
University of Illinois, a 1998-1999 IEEE MTT-S Fellowship, and a 2002 URSI
